Read All Necessary Information from Phone

Official solution by HTC is:

Create an account on HTC page or log in if you got one.

Select your phone model and press Begin Unlock Bootloader button.

Next, confirm that you know what you do by press

YES

button, then check both checkbox and press Proceed to Unlock Instructions button.

Go to step 4 and press button Step 5.

Next turn the phone in fastboot mode and connect to USB cable.

Turn on command prompt with admin rights. go to c:Adb directory in the command line:

Use command

fastboot oem get_identifier_token

and press

enter

Next copy exactly what you see in manual on HTC page from command prompt and press submit button.

The phone can disconnect from USB cable and turn off. If you do not see e-mail after 24 hours check spam directory.

The Droid DNA is a monster of a phone that successfully raises the bar for manufacturers looking to release a new flagship device. As it turns out, the device’s bootloader, which is essential to all the modding that you want to apply, cannot be unlocked now through HTC’s official tool.

You should also remember that this process involves some serious modifications to your phone – ones that can render the device absolutely bricked (with no hope of recovery) if not followed to the letter. Requirements

DNA_TeamAndIRC.zip

Windows/Linux PC with ABD for ICS or above configured.

Minimum 1GB of free space in your Droid DNA’s internal memory.

At least 50% charge on your phone’s battery (full is recommended).

Patience and ability to follow instructions as they are given.

Procedure

Step 1: Download both the files mentioned above. Extract the contents of DNA_TeamAndIRC.zip, and place the chúng tôi , CIDGen.apk and chúng tôi files in the same directory where you have ADB installed.

Step 2: Launch a command prompt or terminal instance, and run the following command:

adb install CIDGen.apk

Step 3: Launch CIDGen on your phone, follow the instructions on screen, and verify the existence of chúng tôi in the root of your Droid DNA’s SD card/internal memory using this command:

Step 5: Open a second terminal or command prompt instance, and restore the modified backup using the command below. Do note that the first window will enter into an infinite loop, and throw various error messages. Just leave them as they are for now, do not get alarmed.

adb restore backup.ab

Step 6: Allow the modified backup to restore on your phone. Once that is complete, stop the first command prompt by simply closing the window (this will kill the chúng tôi script).

Step 7: In the second command prompt window that you had opened, run the following set of commands. Justin warns that any interruption at this point – reboot, disconnection from PC, power off et al – will permanently brick your device.

adb shell rm /data/data/com.htc.usage/files/exploit/* adb shell mv /data/DxDrm /data/DxDrm_org adb shell mkdir /data/DxDrm adb shell ln -s /dev/block/mmcblk0p5 /data/DxDrm/DxSecureDB adb reboot adb wait-for-device

Step 8: At this point, you’ll need to run the chúng tôi script again. Command is same as before, and will put it in an endless loop as well:

adb shell /data/local/tmp/runme.sh

Step 9: Again, launch another command prompt/terminal window, and restore the modified backup once again, just like we did in step 5:

adb restore backup.ab

Step 10: Once it’s restored again, terminate the chúng tôi exploit by closing the previous window, and run these commands:

adb shell mv /data/DxDrm /data/DxDrm_trash adb shell dd if=/sdcard/CIDBLOCK.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p5 adb reboot

There you have it. After this reboot, you have essentially changed your Droid DNA’s carrier information, and it can once again be unlocked through HTCDev.com.

Use the info below to correctly configure your PC and your HTC Droid DNA so that you’ll unlock its bootloader from your first attempt:

This guide will void your warranty. Not future update will be available for your device and the only method you can use to upgrade your device will be by using manual tutorial and applications.

Use this guide only with the Verizon HTC Droid DNA smartphone. Do not attempt to flash the files listed here on any other device.

Install the HTC Sync Manager software on your computer from HERE.

Note that this guide will remove all data from your smartphone and it would be better if you’d apply the steps before you install any applications, transfer files etc.

You will need a working internet connection as you will have to connect to HTCdev’s website.

Enable USB Debuging option from the phone’s Developer Settings.

Charge the phone’s battery so that you won’t see it discharging before applying the changes I’ve listed in the tutorial.

How to unlock HTC Droid DNA Bootloader:

Download the Fastboot zip file from HERE. Extract the files contained within it and save them to a single folder named ‘fastboot’, on your PC desktop. You will have 4 files in this particular folder. NOTE: The HTC Sync Manager Software should be installed on your computer before moving to the next step; the download link for it can be found in the pre-requisites guide above.

Follow the on-screen instructions shown on the HTCdev web page. These should say ‘Power off your device’, boot your phone into bootloader mode by pressing simultaneously ‘volume down’ and ‘power’ buttons. Choose ‘Fastboot’ and then connect your HTC Droid DNA to your computer via USB Cable.

Go to the ‘Fastboot’ folder that you created at step 1, open it.

fastboot devices – This will show the HTC Droid DNA device ID. IN case this doesn’t appear then you will have to re-install the HTC Sync Software files, which can be found in the preparation guide.

Open that e-mail message and download the file called ‘Unlock_code.bin’ attached file. Save the file in the ‘fastboot’ folder; the one created at step 1.

Now you will have to open the link that is listed in the e-mail.

Use Fastboot and the Command Prompt window to flash ‘Unlock_code.bin’ file to your phone:

fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin – enter this command line.

the HTC Droid DNA will get a request for ‘Unlock bootloader’ and you have to press the ‘Volume Up’ and Power to confirm this action.

Now your smartphone will restart and a ‘factory reset’ process has been started. When that’s complete, your phone will boot normally and it will have its bootloader state set to UNLOCK. That’s it!

These were all the steps that you had to take and now you’re free to root your phone and install custom recovery, custom ROMs and any other modification file that you think that will improve the performance of your phone.

Power off the phone.

Charge your phone up to 80% or 70%

STEPS TO UNLOCK BOOTLOADER ON HTC Bolt / 10 Evo

Once your phone reboot into bootloader, make sure your phone shows the bootloader locked with security S-ON, if it shows then type the command below to make sure fastboot drivers are installed properly.

fastboot devices

This command will list the connected devices. If your phone’s serial number shows up you are good to go and may continue. If the phone is NOT listed this indicates that your drivers are not installed correctly. In order for you to continue you must fix your drivers so that your phone is listed under fastboot devices.

If the phone has been recognized by the command above, proceed to boot into bootloader by tapping down the volume down button on your phone and select the BOOT TO DOWNLOAD MODE option with power key. Now you can unlock the bootloader with the following command: Remember that this step will wipe EVERYTHING off the phone fastboot oem get_identifier_token
